First Congregational Church
Coontown, Warren Township, Somerset County

One of the few Congregational churches in the west central part of
the state, this congregation was organized as a Lutheran church in
1846; in 1855 the congregation affiliated with the Dutch Reformed Church,
then with the Congregational Church in 1871. This building was erected
in 1872. It is now known as the Trinity United Church.
I suspect
the entrance vestibule is a later addition, as that would have been
unusual in a 1872 building in this state.
