Dennisville
Methodist Episcopal
Church
Dennisville, Cape May County

Like its counterpart in South Dennis, this large wooden frame meetinghouse
is in sensational condition. The congregation was organized in 1869
and the follwing year built this fine wooden frame church. It is very
similar to the Methodist church in South Dennis, including the identical
brackets under the eaves. In fact, except for the tall steeple and
the interrupted return on the pediment here, and the absence of
the shutters found on the other building, these could almost be twins.
That is strong
evidence
they
were erected
by
the same contractor-builder.
