We've created a database and photographic inventory on more than half
the 18th & 19th century churches in the state and add to it each month.
We welcome and solicit all contributions and suggestions from our visitors.
The church was founded as a mission church of the Bethlehem Baptist
church in 1831, and this building was erected in 1858 at a cost of $1,600.
The last full-time minister left in 1904 and the congregation dwindled
down to eight members. Now a private residence, it served as a funeral
home after 1971 until a few years ago.
