Mt. Carmel Baptist church
Lambertville, Hunterdon County

founded 1897; built 1897
This simple church sits amidst a row of small houses and storefronts
on North Main, away from the town center. The false stone facade hides
a brick building, with unusual ornamentation over the door. With no
windows on the gable end and most light blocked to the four small windows
on the sides, this is a different style than the other small churches
in the county, but is consistent with other inner city black churches.
