Linvale Methodist Episcopal church
Linvale, West Amwell Township, Hunterdon County

Founded 1844; built 1858
Although the main part of the building is well-proportioned, the entry
and steeple are clumsy. At the moment, the half dozen residences do
not appear to be even a hamlet along Route 31, but Snell, writing in
1881, regarded New Market, as it was then called, as quite a smart
settlement.
