Manahawkin Baptist Church
Manahawkin, Ocean County
The old meeting house combined elements from several styles—a
Greek Revival pediment, Italianate brackets in the cornice, and a
little railing around the lower tier of the belfry that comes directly
from the Wren-Gibbs idiom; it was erected in 18__, and now serves
as the Stafford Township Community
Center,
but
there is not even a sign to call attention to its history. The building
has been beautifully preserved and maintained.
