Pattenburg Methodist Episcopal Church
Union Township, Hunterdon County

The Methodist church in Pattenburg was organized in 1840, but members
met in homes and barns in the area until 1853 when this building was
erected. It remains very much as it was when it was then except for
the belfry, which was enclosed sometime later. At one time there was
apparently a Baptist church in the village, but all traces of that had
disappeared by the 1880s.
