Zion
Methodist Episcopal Church
Porchtown, Gloucester County

Porchtown is
the site of this fine 1834 wood-frame building, the Zion Methodist
Episcopal church. I suspect there has been something of a facelift
after the building was erected, as the brackets in the pediment belong
to a slightly later era.
Subsequent to writing the above paragraph I found the
church is listed in the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS). The congregation
was organized in 1807 and the church was "rebuilt" in 1860. It
is listed as being in the "Malaga vicinity" rather than Porchtown.
