St Thomas African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church
Somerville, Somerset County

The church was founded in 1856 or 1858 and this small wood frame building
was erected in 1890. It was once quite an interesting building, with
shingles covering the gable and planking over the remainder of the
church. The newer entry is unfortunate, and the tower has lost its
character.
The church is notable for its association with
Paul Robeson, who father was minister here during his youth.
