Old Yellow Meetinghouse
Upper Freehold Township, Monmouth County

This is one of the superb early churches in the state. It was built
by the Baptists in 1737 and has been beautifully restored. The large
grounds and cemetery, with the meetinghouse set back amidst these ancient
oaks, left me feeling that I saw what members of the congregation in
the eighteenth century might have seen. The meetinghouse is located
on Yellow Meetinghouse Road, off Route 526 a bit east of Imlaystown
(off I195).
