First Baptist Church
West Long Branch, Monmouth County

Baptists organized their first congregation in this area in 1738 and
built this interesting church in 1892. It has new aluminum siding
so
it is difficult to determine how much of the original design remains.
It is quite an unusual design, with the massed windows, the round apse
at the rear and the "columns" flanking the central tower. I would not
be surprised to find that we have a major architect involved in the
plan.
