Centenary Methodist Episcopal Church
Camden, Camden County

This is a dark sandstone building, erected in 1892 at Cooper Street (the principal street in town) and Fifth Avenue, which I've found difficult to photograph. It's a nice building on a prominent street, now occupied by the Tabernacle of Faith. The original congregation was organized in 1866, and this building, designed by architect Frank R. Watson, succeeded the adjacent chapel, which had been erected in 1868. The chapel (at the left in the photograph), was designed by John Frazier of Philadelphia.
     The main auditorium seats about 750 in an amphitheatre style. The stone, incidentally, is Trenton brownstone.
